Essential Skills II

Being a successful student requires understanding how you learn, identifying your values, and setting clear goals. In this course, you will learn essential research, writing, and presentation skills.

Additionally, you will focus on financial literacy through the Enriched Academy program, designed specifically for Oxford College students, to help you confidently manage your finances.

Essentials of Networking

In this module, students will help learn the fundamentals of networking, see how devices communicate on a network and understand network addressing and network services.

Students will also practice building a home network and configuring basic security. Students will be introduced to the basics of configuring Cisco devices and learn to test and troubleshoot network problems.

Switching and Routing

This course focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks, including wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. This course helps prepare students to take the CCNA board examination.  Students Learn IP Connectivity and Subnetting and acquire skills in IP addressing, subnetting, and configuring IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Students also explore Switching Concepts and Layer 2 Protocols and gain knowledge about Ethernet, MAC addresses, VLANs, and Layer 2 protocols. Students will delve into Advanced Networking and Security and gain an understanding of wireless networking and Layer 3 protocols.

Operating Systems

This comprehensive course provides in-depth coverage of Windows Server 2022 and Linux ubuntu or centos, Managing Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Print Server and File Server.

Installing and administering Linux

This course covers the essential skills needed to manage and maintain Linux-based systems. Students will learn how to navigate the command line, manage users and permissions, handle software installations, and configure network settings. Students will gain practical skills in system services, security practices, and backup strategies while developing troubleshooting techniques for effective system maintenance. This course provides the essential knowledge and practical experience needed to manage Linux environments.

Network Security

In this course, students will gain a comprehensive introduction to essential network security concepts, focusing on modern security solutions, protocols, and technologies critical for safeguarding network environments.
