Join the 2.5 Year Denturism Program at Oxford College.
Offered exclusively at the downtown Toronto Campus.
A Denturist is a licensed professional who can own their own practice. You can set your hours and your income, and most go on to run their own clinics, in a field where demand keeps outpacing supply.
As a Denturist, you would:
- Assess a client’s mouth and take an impression of their teeth and gums
- Design and construct complete, partial & implant-supported dentures
- Insert & fit new dentures
- Reline, rebase, and adjust dentures
- Fabricate mouth guards and bleaching trays

Why Denturism
Denturism is a regulated, independent oral health profession. A large proportion of Denturists own and operate their own practice. They set their own hours, build their own client base, and determine their own income ceiling. For those who chose to work as a denturist starting salary is ~$40/hour. And the demand is growing.
Canada’s 65+ population is the fastest-growing demographic in the country. The Canadian Dental Care Plan, launched in 2024, extended dental coverage to millions of Canadians who previously had none.
More coverage means more patients. More patients mean more demand for denture services. But the supply side is thin. Only five career colleges in Canada offer a Denturism program, making it one of the more exclusive healthcare professions to enter. Consequently, the working-class industry remain relatively small and specialized compared with many other healthcare fields.
The question isn’t whether denturism is a good career. The question is whether you want to own one.
What Makes Our Program Different?
Our Denturism diploma is one of the few programs in Canada delivered in a hybrid format (online theory combined with in-person laboratory training). You complete the academic component and show up to the lab ready to work.
THE PROGRAM ADVANTAGES:
- ONE OF THE FEW HYBRID DENTURISM PROGRAMS IN CANADA
Theory is taught online. Clinical and lab work is done in person at our fully equipped dental laboratory in Toronto. - 2.5 YEARS, NOT 3 YEARS
A three-year program means three years of full-time tuition, living costs, and financial pressure. Oxford College’s 2.5-year program gets you to graduation six months sooner, which means six fewer months of student expenses, six fewer months of deferred income, and a shorter overall financial commitment before you’re a licensed, practicing Denturist. - COHORTS OF 15 STUDENTS
Most colleges run large cohorts. We run small cohorts of 15, that means more instructor time, more individual feedback at every stage of training. - DIGITAL DENTURES MODULE
Our curriculum includes CAD/CAM technology, 3D scanning, and digital printing for denture fabrication. - BUSINESS PLANNING BUILT IN
The curriculum includes BAPB 100: Preparing a Business Plan. You graduate knowing how to run a practice, not just how to make a denture. - FULLY EQUIPPED DENTAL LABORATORY
When you enter the profession, you will already be familiar with the tools, the workflow, and the standard.

Message from the Program Coordinator
Cindy Rotman, BSc., DD
I’m excited to welcome you to the Denturism Program at Oxford College.
Denturism is one of the most unique and highly skilled healthcare professions in Canada. As a Denturist, you’ll be an independent professional, licensed and trained to provide removable denture prosthetic services directly to your patients.
You’ll give people the ability to smile, eat, and speak with confidence again.
Our faculty is dedicated to making sure every student graduates with the knowledge, clinical skills, and confidence to become a well-rounded, capable denturist. My involvement with College of Denturists of Ontario committees provides valuable insight into the profession’s standards and expectations, enabling me to lead educational initiatives that prepare students to become competent, ethical, and practice-ready denturists.
I encourage you to explore the program further and reach out to us with any questions. We’d love to help you take the next step.

Final Term
Board Prep and Business
The final term is where you continue to focus on patient centered care, while preparing for the College of Denturists of Ontario (CDO) provincial licensing exam, cover ethics and professional relations, and complete your business planning module. Applicants need an OSSD or equivalent (or Mature Student Status with Wonderlic), Grade 12 English, Grade 11 Math, Physics, or Chemistry, Grade 11 Biology, and Oxford College’s English Assessment (minimum 6.0 verbal / 7.0 written). Clinical requirements include a completed Immunization Verification Report and a clear CPIC report.
How much do denturists earn?
The starting salary for a denturist in Ontario is ~$40/hour, approximately $83,200 annually at full-time hours. Because most denturists operate their own practices, income scales as you grow in the practice.
Is the program available online or part-time?
Oxford College’s Denturism program uses a hybrid delivery model, one of the few of its kind in Canada. Theory is completed online.
Clinical and laboratory training is done in person at the Toronto campus and cannot be completed remotely or part-time. The program is full-time for 2.5 years.
How much does the program cost, and is financial aid available?
Domestic tuition is approximately $60,000. The total investment, including kits, supplies, and exam fees is approximately $68,778 for domestic students.
Financial aid options include OSAP, Second Career funding of up to $28,000 for eligible career changers, and flexible monthly payment plans. Speak with an Admissions Advisor for a full breakdown of your options.
What makes Oxford College different from other colleges?
Three things: speed, outcomes, and model.
Oxford College’s program is 2.5 years, compared to 3 years at other colleges.
We publish our board exam pass rates (82–100% written, 2024–2025); other public colleges do not.
Someone in my family works in dentistry and suggested I look into denturism.
Is this program right for me?
If you already have some exposure to the dental field, through a family member or otherwise, you likely understand the clinical environment.
What distinguishes denturism is its independence. Denturists don’t assist another professional. They see patients directly, make clinical decisions, fabricate the prostheses, and deliver them.
If you want a healthcare career where your outcome is the practice you build, denturism is worth considering.
Call us at 647-360-9685 or fill out the form above, and an Education Consultant will walk you through the process to determine whether you qualify.
